Recently I have seen some of my friends get their MySpace accounts hacked. Once hacked, their profile is used to post bulletins that try and send unsuspecting users to a Phishing site that will steal your MySpace login information.
The bulletins range anywhere from a user appearing bored and posting an interesting link to an article, or some funny article, a new website they found interesting, or even a blog that they wrote.
The link is written in HTML Coding so that the website it will take you to does not show up as the link it says it is, if it even displays a link. The current site it is taking people to is onlymorons.com/myspace. It also takes you to other sites like zhay.us which will redirect you to the onlymorons.com/myspace phishing site. The site appears to be a MySpace Login page, trying to lure users into entering in their information, which then gets sent to the hacker so they can log in to your account and further spread their mischief.
Always question bulletin links in MySpace, just as you would question strange emails that are supposedly from a bank or other online account that has to do with finances. Hackers are always trying to duplicate a log in page to steal information in order to hack accounts and steal identities. Always pay attention to what the page is in the address bar if it is prompting you to login.
Hackers are everywhere, so are phishing sites, please be careful and use safe surfing habits!
