Microsoft Word Zero Day Exploit

A flaw has been found in Microsoft Word. This vulnerability can be exploited by opening a Word document that contains malicious code.

This vulnerability was discovered right after the latest patch release. Microsoft will be working on a security patch that should be released within the next week or so. Microsoft suggests to "not open or save Word files," even from normally trusted sources.

The affected software includes: Microsoft Word 2000, Microsoft Word 2002, Microsoft Office Word 2003, Microsoft Word Viewer 2003, Microsoft Word 2004 for Mac and Microsoft Word 2004 v. X for Mac. The Microsoft Works 2004, 2005 and 2006 suites are also affected, as they include Microsoft Word.

Please use caution when dealing with Word documents, and download the update patch when it comes out.
