What are corrupted archives? |

StopSign AntiVirus is able to detect not only files that have been tampered with by malicious software, but also those that have been damaged (corrupted) inadvertently.
Occasionally, a damaged file is downloaded or copied onto a system. The file itself may have been damaged originally or damaged during a download.
These "corrupted archives" or damaged files are not infected. You may easily replace these files from an uncorrupted source, such as the original manufacturer's disks. If you don't want to do that, another safe option would be to ignore these files.
In any case, the damaged files are not infected, so they do not present a risk to your system. The only reason these files show up on your scanner is because StopSign goes the extra mile just to let you know if you have files that have been damaged in any way.
